Why I Became an Investment Advisor
There are a lot of career options available for childhood dreaming and the list often includes cool things like being a movie star, musician, scientist, astronaut, doctor, playing for national sports, the list is endless and it most often doesn't include being an investment advisor. A lot of people wonder why someone would choose to become an investment advisor, I have an answer for them - you get to help yourself while you help someone else, it is that simple. I am Dave and I am an investment advisor. This is my story, explanation of why I chose to become and love being an investment advisor.
After finishing college I wasn't sure of what I wanted to be. A lot of things seemed possible at the time, I was in the literature club in school, I was a writing enthusiast, I played guitar good enough,
so I could be in a band, and my bachelor's degree in management certainly did promise some alluring jobs but none could satisfy what I was looking for. I have always wanted a secure and stable financial
life, since I believed that it is the financially secure people that are almost always happy than those who have to worry what will become of them if the next job doesn't work for them.
One day I was at the cash counter of our local super market, working for my summer part time job, before I can decide whether I should look for a job or study further. It was late noon and the customer flow was low, so I was free to continue mulling over my future job prospects and possibilities. Then two people walked into the store conversing about the possible investments for the money that one of the guys earned as a bonus at work and it dawned on me , that being an investment advisor is something that could work for me. I have always believed in stable and secure financial status which also included the ability to invest money wisely so that one can have a better future. So what better ways to do that both for myself and other people while I am at it, since I always believed in work as being able to do something you love and something you believe in? I thought this would be a great opportunity for me since I always believed in investing wise and I was already good at coming up with ideas and problem solving.
Being an investment advisor doesn't require high qualifications or references, what it does need is passion, patience, a will to learn and a will to help. I felt that this job will help me earn well and also be able to genuinely help people to invest right, and be able to enjoy all the possible benefits and comforts that to the maximum extent of their money's worth. I also love this job since I don't work as a strict official but have more human interaction and flexible timings among other things but the best of all being I am able to make money while I help others secure theirs!
